The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

2017 TOPSoccer Coach of the Year Award winner to be honored at Awards Gala

FRISCO, Texas (Dec. 20, 2017) — US Youth Soccer is pleased to recognize the accomplishments of the national winner and nominees for the 2017 US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer Coach of the Year award. The TOPSoccer Coach of the Year Award honors individuals for his or her demonstration of patience, understanding, dependability, flexibility and ability to adjust to ever-changing on-field situations.

The national TOPSoccer Coach of the Year will be honored at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop in Philadelphia, held in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.

National TOPSoccer Coach of the Year Award Winner:

Caryn Goulet – Wilmington, Mass. (EAST)

Goulet has been the emotional and vocal leader of her TOPSoccer programs. She advocates for field space, funds to support the program, and most importantly, the development of all the players’ social, mental and motor skills. She challenges her coordinators to push their players to be their best. Goulet’s passion has players and coaches coming back season after season to enjoy all TOPSoccer has to offer.

Other National Award Nominees:

MIDWEST – Eric Zimmerman – Holmen, Wisc.
Zimmerman’s happiness, professionalism and patience helps him make adjustments with ease during his sessions for his individual players while ensuring the success of all his TOPSoccer players.

SOUTH – Joni Al-Shabibi – Cape Coral, Fla.
TOPSoccer buddies and players alike aspire to Al-Shabibi’s coaching points to ensure that the players are always having fun while working on physically challenging skills and building confidence.

WEST – Jason Hall – Mesa, Ariz.
In 2016, Hall helped launch and build the Legacy TOPSoccer program in Arizona. Hall was also instrumental in helping to arrange for TOPSoccer courses for the club’s coaches and players.

The US Youth Soccer Workshop will be held in Philadelphia from Jan. 17-21, 2018. The annual Workshop will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention. The week is designed to further the education of coaches, administrators, referees and enthusiasts involved in the game. For more information, please visit
